OnePlus is all set to launch its latest smartphone, the OnePlus 15R, in India today. The new device will be unveiled alongside the OnePlus Pad Go 2 at the company’s “Rise as One” launch event in Bengaluru. The OnePlus 15R is expected to be the successor to the OnePlus 13R and is positioned as a strong contender in the premium mid-range segment.
The company has already revealed the design of the OnePlus 15R and confirmed some hardware details ahead of the launch. One of the major changes expected this year is the removal of the traditional alert slider, which will reportedly be replaced by a new “Plus Key.” Leaks suggest that this customizable button on the OnePlus 15R will support multiple functions, such as switching sound profiles, launching the camera, turning on the flashlight, starting translation, or saving memories for OnePlus Mind.
In terms of display, the OnePlus 15R is expected to feature a 1.5K AMOLED panel with a 165Hz refresh rate, similar to the OnePlus 15. The screen could offer a peak brightness of up to 1,800 nits in high brightness mode and also support very low brightness levels for comfortable use at night.
The device is expected to be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 processor, paired with a new G2 Wi-Fi chip and a dedicated touch response chip for smooth performance. For photography, the smartphone is likely to feature a dual rear camera setup with a 50MP primary sensor with OIS, while the front camera could be a 32MP shooter with 4K video recording and autofocus support.
The OnePlus 15R is also expected to pack a large 7,400mAh battery with 80W wired fast charging support. For durability, the device may have several water and dust resistance ratings, including IP66, IP68, IP69, and IP69K.

The OnePlus 13R was launched in India at a starting price of ₹42,999, while the top variant was priced at ₹49,999. Based on leaks, the OnePlus 15R is expected to launch in India at a starting price of over ₹45,000, and we can expect to see price variations due to the price hike.
