Realme is reportedly preparing to refresh both its mid-range and budget smartphone portfolios in India. New listings accessed by industry sources reveal key details of the upcoming realme 16 Pro+ 5G and the realme C81 4G, suggesting that the company is gearing up for an early 2026 announcement.
Realme 16 Pro+ 5G: Pro+ Branding Returns After One Generation

In a notable shift, realme is bringing back the Pro+ model after skipping it in the realme 15 lineup. The upcoming realme 16 Pro+ 5G, carrying the model number RMX5131, will launch in India with three premium colour finishes:
- Master Grey
- Master Gold
- Camellia Pink
According to the early database entry, the device will be offered in four storage configurations, signalling a premium mid-range positioning:
- 8GB + 128GB
- 8GB + 256GB
- 12GB + 256GB
- 12GB + 512GB
Multiple storage options and a return of the Pro+ variant indicate that realme is aiming to strengthen its upper mid-tier lineup after a relatively quiet 2025 in this segment.
Realme C81 4G: New Budget Model Spotted with Two Colour Choices
If the leaks are to be believed, alongside the Pro+ model, Realme is also working on a new entry-level smartphone—the Realme C81 4G. Listed under the model number RMX5388, the handset will arrive in India and select Asian markets.
The C81 is expected to arrive in two colours:
- Storm Black
- Glacier Blue
And two storage variants:
- 4GB + 64GB
- 4GB + 128GB
The C-series continues to be one of realme’s strongest offline performers, and the C81 appears to be positioned as the next budget-centric offering with improved design and reliability.
Expected Launch Timeline
While realme has not issued an official confirmation, sources indicate that the smartphones have entered the final validation phase. This points to an early 2026 launch window, likely starting with the Indian market.
What to Expect
The return of the Pro+ branding suggests realme is preparing a more aggressive strategy in the mid-range category, potentially featuring upgrades in display tech, camera performance, and fast charging. Meanwhile, the realme C81 4G is set to target mass-market consumers and strengthen the brand’s presence in the sub-₹10,000 segment.
